Lichen sclerosus
Lichen sclerosus is a chronic skin condition that most often affects the skin around the vulva and anus. It can cause intense itching, burning, dryness, pain, thin, fragile, whitish skin and small tears, and it can affect your sex life. The symptoms are often mistaken for thrush.
Early diagnosis and the right treatment matter, because they help stop it getting worse. Effective treatment is available. Lichen sclerosus can’t be cured, but it can be treated and kept under control. Treatment is usually a steroid cream applied to the skin, which calms inflammation and protects the skin.
At GYNSTUDIO we offer thorough assessment, treatment and follow-up in a safe, respectful setting.

How we can help
Here you’ll meet a multidisciplinary team of gynaecologists, a midwife, physiotherapists, psychosexual therapists, dietitians and trainers. We work together to support you with exactly what you need.
Care at GYNSTUDIO is usually self-funded (paid privately), and you don’t need a referral.
Do you have health insurance?
Policies with Danica and Nordea Pension include free choice of provider, so you can choose GYNSTUDIO and have your treatment reimbursed or paid directly. Always check with your insurer whether your policy covers the care you need.
Most health insurance policies partly cover physiotherapy, acupuncture and similar treatments.
